We are a group of students from different faculties who are there to listen to other students several times a week.

Just like you, we are also students at a university or college in Göttingen. This means we understand your current situation. Whether it's because the exam phase is stressing you out, you're struggling to make connections in a new city and in your semester or you feel unfairly treated by lecturers. But also if you're heartbroken or having a fight with your parents, you're annoyed with a friend, you're having stress with the building management or you just want to tell us how your day was. It doesn't matter whether you've just become a freshman or you're already writing your dissertation: You can call us if you feel like you just want to talk to someone.
We are not professional counselors. Nevertheless, we are specially trained and undergo ongoing training. Our principle is to listen to you carefully and not to give you rash advice. We want to talk to you together in order to support you emotionally and help you to find solutions yourself. Just talking about a stressful situation is often good and can help you. And if in doubt, we can also put you in touch with other sources of help.
We have established basic principles as guidelines for our work, which we would like to explain to you here:
Anonymous
So that you can call us without inhibition, our service is anonymous. This means that neither your identity nor ours will be revealed. Your telephone number is also not visible to us. You only give your name if you wish to do so.
Confidential
We have committed ourselves to confidentiality. This means that the content of the conversation will not be taken beyond the boundaries of Nightline.
Unprejudiced
We would like to meet you without prejudice as an unbiased discussion partner. This is the prerequisite for a good conversation and is supported by anonymity.
Independent
We are independent. Our work is not influenced by other university groups, parties or religious communities.
Low-threshold
You can call us with any request. No problem is too small for us. We also take concerns seriously that you fear are not big enough for other offers of help. Or the issues that are on your mind at the moment, but you perhaps don't want to tell your personal environment about at first.
